Letter to the Editor: Bill Sutton

Letter to the Editor:

It is my honor and pleasure to highly recommend Honorable Cris Patnode for the position of County Judge in Oregon. I have known Judge Patnode for many years, through our membership in the National Judge’s Association. She worked her way through the various offices of NJA, from Secretary to President, and her service and professionalism was second to none. She has been an inspiration to me, as she understands the balance of being on the bench, between the human element and the legal element. As past President of JA and President of Arizona Judge’s Associations myself, I have met judges from all over the U.S., and she is in a small handful of judges who I feel are at the top of the profession.

She accomplishments are too numerous to mention in a short letter, but please check them out. Her giving of herself to her hometowns, her county, her state and even nationally, would be hard for anyone else to match.

On a personal level, her thousands of hours of volunteer work for her community, organizations, the State of Oregon, and even national organizations show how amazing of a person she is. From my standpoint, she is respectful, kind, humble, has a good sense of humor, is a great listener, and is a hard worker.

Finally, in what is called by many “the game of life” Judge Patnode is a winner in everything she does. She “gets it.” She is a role model to me.

Yours Truly,

Bill Sutton, Arizona

Past President of NJA
