LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Jim Hassing

To the Editor,

My name is Jim Hassing and I am running for Gilliam County Judge. I have lived in Gilliam County most of my life. Spent three years in U.S. Army, six-time Exalted Ruler of the Condon Elks Lodge. I am going on ten years as Mayor of Condon.

Right now with the way the county tax percentage distribution schedule is setup, there is a large difference between the North and South. Which is the Health, School, and Fire District.

I feel the county can make up the difference so they are both equal between the north and the south.

The Road Department has been doing a lot of good on roads in the county. I woulds like to see that keep happening. That is why I feel the road department should get the budget that they ask for to keep up with giving us better roads in the county.

As into early learning or preschool, I feel they should keep getting the funding they need to operate. Plus to get daycare funded and staffed so parents can work their full-time schedule. I feel the staff should get the best pay and benefits.

I will support senior transportation so we have the best vehicle and staff to keep it running smoothly.

I have a lot more ideas to make our county the best in the state.

I will work closely with the staff of the courthouse so I have a better understanding of their job. So we can make it a better place to work.

I will work hard to make sure the county is run for the people. I will be open minded and will listen to ideas and come to a compromise before we decide to vote.

Vote Jim Hassing for Judge of Gilliam County, the greatest county to live in.

Sincerely,

Jim Hassing, Condon
