Oregon Frontier Community Conversations seeks input from six communities

Oregon Frontier Chamber hosts Rural Development Initiatives and Reinventing Rural for tri-county tour

The Oregon Frontier Chamber of Commerce (formerly the Condon Chamber of Commerce) has been on a roll. Last year, the chamber expanded beyond Condon to become a tri-county chamber. This year, the chamber received the coveted Business Oregon Technical Assistance grant in addition to the Rural Opportunity Initiative (ROI) grant. Only one other organization in Oregon received both grants.

To seize this opportunity, the Oregon Frontier Chamber is hosting staff from Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) and Reinventing Rural for sessions in Condon, Arlington, Wasco, Fossil, Mitchell and Spray.

Members from the community are encouraged to participate and share their experiences and hopes.

The Oregon Frontier Community Conversations will work to identify assets in each community, as well as barriers. Communities will work to generate ideas and the Chamber will share training and other supportive opportunities.

Oregon Frontier Chamber of Commerce Executive Director K'Lynn Lane says that the visit by RDI and support from Business Oregon is significant and that the tri-county area is getting significant attention statewide.

Everyone is welcome to attend and the meetings are not specifically for business owners or entrepreneurs. All views and ideas are encouraged and there will be refreshments served at each event.
